roctechworks was started in 2022 as an MSP for small to medium sized businesses. We provide IT support and consultation to companies that don't have internal IT.
While providing support, we started making software as we noticed a lack of specialized software for common problems.
Tinkerer
While learning to code, I built a geo surveyor back in 2014 using a Rasberry Pi SBC and a handful of sensors. Using I2C as the communications, it logged sensor data and GPS coordinates to a SQLite file.
Linux Enthusiast
After many attempts at coping with intentional degrading ownership of my computer, updates breaking every day features, advertisements on the system level, and so much more, I switched to Linux. I tried many different distro before landing on Arch Linux using Hyprland.
Although there is a learning curve to Linux, the end result is owning your computer again and having it work with you, instead of constantly fighting you and recommending things you never want.
Hiker
Occasionally hiking with a destination, I usually just enjoy being in nature for periods of time. It provides essential thinking time and balances out any stress that has built up. When a high peak is involved, be sure to bring a brew for the view.
